Honestly, the Meat lover's burrito was amazing and the tacos were also delicious... As someone who has been to Mexico multiple times, THIS is the food I crave to eat when I'm there! Super friendly staff, delicious food, and super cute restaurant.

Absolutely love this place! Everything we have ever tried has been good and they are so sweet there. You feel so welcome. Had the guacamole tonight and of course it exceeded expectations.

Coming from Calgary, we were very hungry and found this place on Google. The taste exceeded our expectations, and the staff was really friendly. The enchiladas and burritos were delicious, the tacos we ordered additionally were perfect beyond expectation. They gave free fries and tacos to the kids. This is the best place to eat. We will visit again.

After reading a local write-up about The Mexican Hat, we decided to go for a late lunch. The waitress (owner?) was cordial and informed us on the ordering process. The restaurant is decorated nicely and had a bit of Mexican vibe. The free tortilla chips and three dips were a good start to our meal, with the dips having different and tasty heat levels. Our meals came quickly and looked good with tasty rice and refried beans. The soft tortillas (one cubed steak, one ground beef mix) looked good however lacking in taste. As Mexican food lovers, we've experienced amazing Mexican food while travelling in Mexico, the SW USA, and in Canada. In our opinion, the Mexican Hat could really elevate their protein offerings by adding more Mexican spice. The pico de gallo was also very bland, lacking in cilantro, chiles, lime juice and salt. The Tres Leches cake again did not meet our expectations being too dry and too short.
Overall our experience was average at best with higher scores going to customer service.

I've came here 3 times for a basketball tournament and visited this restaurant everytime we're in Medicine Hat. It is a great restaurant and the environment is very friendly. They make you feel like it's your home and the food is just as good as well. 10/10

What a wonderful surprise! When working away from home, my crew likes to look for locally owned restaurants. Not only did we find the food and atmosphere good, the staff were friendly and quick. Pricing was better than fast food and portions left this construction crew very satisfied.
We will be back ( maybe even tonight )
