Had Monday lunch there. Nice patio in a quiet area. Kids mac and cheese was a good size for $9. Salmon teriyaki was decent. Squash'n greens salad was OK. Staff was nice but waited a bit for food. Iced latte was just OK. Chocolate torte was very good. So overall decent/OK on the food items we ordered, nothing fancy. Was happy they were open on labor day

This was a really nice spot! It was a very relaxed and cozy environment with very friendly staff. The staff was very diligent when we mentioned my dad’s garlic allergy they made a point of checking everything and following up to make sure he got something delicious and garlic free. I always really appreciate it because it is an obscure allergy. I had the fish tacos with the house salad and they were very good! Everything is super fresh.

I have had the pleasure of spending a lot of time at this location so I have been fortunate to try different items on the menu at different hours of the day or in the evening.

The mornings offer a great selection of breakfast items such as house baked bread, croissants or bagels with whipped cream cheese, fruit, eggs and coffee!

For lunch and dinner, there is a lovely selection of sandwiches, flatbreads, soups, salads and more! Atmosphere is more intimate.

Dessert and beverages menus are fantastic. A definite treat for East City living.

The atmosphere is great with beautiful epoxy floors, historic decor and art as well as a great place to enjoy a casual conversation.

Looking forward to next time!

Update: I enjoyed a lovely evening in the beautiful event space in the basement where I enjoyed a private party with some great people. Cynthia was our server and bartender. She is so sweet and attentive!

Update: I had the pleasure of attending another private event. This time our server and bartender was Sean! He is very personable and enjoys a good laugh. The food was amazing as always!

Update: enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with my friend Sasha Harrison!

My oh my. Time and time again I bring people to this cafe and enjoy the best food, good service and lovely conversation. Yes, I will take dessert too my friends!

The chips (appetizer) were hard to dip because they were basically.... crumbs. Dip was nice, though. Pop @ 4.00 was flat. But the sandwiches and salads were great! Very flavourful✓

My partner and I came here for the first time today for Sunday Brunch, and we were absolutely amazed with how incredible this place is. The food was absolutely fabulous. I had the Breakfast Pizza and my partner had the Croissant Benny, and of course we washed everything down with a mimosa each. We sat on the patio and it was the perfect way to spend our Sunday morning. We will be back for lunch and dinner soon!

A nice little, yet spacious cafe, with some retro industrial fixtures mixed with some modern flare. Interesting dining tables made from recycled chopsticks!
The menu is compact but doesn't lack assortment. The food was a hit and miss. For instance, the Le niçoise salad that I ate had delicious home smoked salmon slices, but the dressing was overwhelmingly strong with citrus/vinegar flavours, and it had roughly mashed potato, which felt out of place. The potato skins looked great, but again, it lacked flavour. The dressing was almost sweet!?!
I will recommend their RY smoked options, they were different.
Couple of decent light beers that were smooth. The espresso based beverages were below par, compared to a lot of places in Peterborough.
The service was very hipster, which seems to be the trend these days, but that is not my style.
A place for a casual lunch or a quick dinner before a show.
Nifty noshing!

I just really really like this place.

First off the Interior Design. Open concept design with a lot of Natural lighting. Feels very comfortable & nice inside as it is very pleasant energy when you see the colours, themes, & nice chairs that they have in trhe middle. I Absolutely love that. The Irish Stew was so Awesome. Never had anything like that in my life. It's so Hearty & Homemade. That's how Awesome it tasted. Service was great too. Very happy to have come here. Thanks The Railyard Café.

Came for dinner, had Megan as our server, who was fantastic, as was the food!
We come fairly regularly, food is always amazing, but this time our server Megan went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect.
Now I know why we always come back!
(Definitely recommend the Flank Steak Boston Wraps)
