We enjoyed our night at the Seabreeze Guest House. Our original AirB&B fell through, and we found ourselves without accommodation for the Friday night of the May long weekend. Two couples on bikes - Cheryl Ann was able to find two rooms for us, and gave us a quick tour of the home before leaving us on our own. Breakfast, prepared by Rachel, was amazing - homemade blueberry muffins were a highlight. I’d highly recommend the Seabreeze for the location, views, Cheryl’s hands-off host approach, and for the great breakfast.

Pro |On the Positive side, it was close to town. That is Steveston and could easily be walked. The steps to the Dyke to walk into town were cut into the Earth which made it difficult for someone to walk up if you had any disability. and there was no hand rail|The room was clean, but very small and had no opening windows, except in the bathroom and an outside door which you couldn't leave open at night. |Cons. There was a fan, but no air conditioning, which made it very hot. The facility is very dated although comfortable, and although there was a kitchen, we were asked not to use the stove, although we could make some coffee.||Not the most welcome place we have stayed at. The owner was overbearing and spoke to us as if we were children explaining in a firm tone about how to lock up. Etc |I understand that there were personal issues going on in the proprietors life that were stressful for her, but we had just flown 14 hours to stay here. |None of the power points initially worked in the bedroom and having been told just to get on with it I proceeded to use a PowerPoint in the kitchen to dry my hair as none would work in the bathroom or the room.. I certainly got some action then. It turned out that the switchboard was the problem, not us and was quickly remedied. |It didn't improve and she was constantly checking up on us. But this definitely improved once other people came to stay. |Having asked for an extra towel I was yelled for bothering the maid. This time I stood up for myself and things improved after that which was 7 days into our stay. |We stayed for 10 days, which was far too long with all this nonsense. Even to the point of being micromanaged on how to open our orange juice. A modern faulty towers without the humour. |I would never stay here again nor would recommended it.

You cannot find a better location or nicer hosts. For my money, a high priced hotel wouldn’t measure up to the convenience and comfort of the Seabreeze Guest House. It is beautifully situated with relaxing views of the Steveston Wetlands and is only steps from the West Dyke Trail. |We felt very welcome and at home in this well appointed guest house where no detail was overlooked as far as providing a good start breakfast. We stayed in the Deluxe Ocean View Room, equipped with a fireplace and a double jacuzzi tub in the ensuite bathroom. The room opens up to a west facing balcony, where we lazily sipped our afternoon glass of wine and watched the ships go by. We also enjoyed our invigorating walks along the trail, in and out of the town of Steveston. |This was truly a rare find, and we hope to return some day.

We had just flown in from the UK so were weary, tired and appreciated the short distance from the airport. Rachel could not have done better in making us feel welcome from the beginning to end of our stay and we quickly felt sufficiently refreshed to take the 20 minute walk into Steveston for a very enjoyable meal.||Our party consisted of two couples and we stayed in the Ocean View and Garden Rooms, both of which faced the sea. Although the bedrooms do not have air conditioning, we found we were able to sleep reasonably comfortably with the fan provided. ||We appreciated the communal space on offer and would have made use of the kitchen, living/dining and media room had we been staying longer.||We enjoyed the extensive continental breakfast on offer the next morning, especially the freshly-made blueberry muffins

After searching for weeks for somewhere to stay near Steveston I came across this beautiful bed and breakfast. The communication beforehand with both the owner and his mother who runs the bed and breakfast was so helpful. Cheryl Anne was a lovely hostess who showed us around and gave us lots of information. Our rooms were comfortable and had jacuzzi, fresh towels and shampoo etc. We were told to help ourselves to snacks and drinks in the kitchen. We were told how to get into Steveston which is a good 20 min walk. Cheryl Anne was courteous, helpful, friendly and it was all we hoped for and more. Breakfast was continental but fresh scones and toast , cereal etc. If you ever need to stay somewhere on the way to and from Vancouver and if there is a vacancy then pick the Seabreeze. You wont be disappointed.

I booked this place expecting a little more « hands off » approach than a regular bed and breakfast (seeing as it calls itself a guest house), however we encountered the same overbearing attitude we so often encounter from b&bs in Canada. Upon arrival, the owner gave us a tour that was too long, with too many instructions about lights and watching our step, etc (we get it, we’re not 10 years old). After a long day of travelling, we just want to get to our room, not listen to a list of dos and don’ts about the light switches. The room was dated, could have been cleaner and was very hot. It’s April, and even with all the heating turned off and the window completely opened, the temperature in the room never dipped below 23 degrees. And don t get me started on those Venetian blinds on the door leading out to the shared balcony. They were in terrible shape. The owner claims she has ordered new ones, but judging from past reviews...I think she might tell every one that story. Breakfast was mediocre with all the food except the fruit in store packaging (we’re talking juice boxes here, people). The owner popped in for two seconds for a cursory word, did not engage in conversation at any point during our stay. It’s clear her heart isn’t in this business. Nice view from the room and good proximity to the coastal path leading into Steveston. Decent place to stay for one night in the off-season, but I’m sure there are better places.

Home from home. I highly recommend this guest house. Beautiful building with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. Clean and spacious and nothing was too much trouble. Delicious breakfast served in the dining room, and tea, coffee and yoghurt to help yourself at any time. Cheryl Ann made us feel so welcome. The huge bed was very comfortable. It's a 25 minute stroll along the coast path into town or there is a regular bus service. Great facilities, great hosts, great location.

The location is very good, short walk to Steveston village, but we recommend you look elsewhere. My husband and I are in the hospitality industry, and we are the owners of a guesthouse, so this experience was quite a shock. Our host was very rude and condescending from our first interaction, throughout the tour of the BNB until our last. We had dinner plans and actually debated whether just to go home after dinner. We were very uncomfortable. The home is extremely dated and worn. Grimy surfaces, stained carpets, old bedding and furniture. Loose and cracked floor tiles, bent blinds, and garbage was left in some of the bins. The furniture is in desperate need of replacing. The bedrooms are very small and the temperature in the house runs very hot, we had all the windows open and were still hot during the night and it is November. The breakfast was juice boxes, yogurt, boxed cereal, some fruit and fresh baked scones, which were lovely and thank you to the lovely girl who served us. We would not recommend this BNB.
