Great spot with ocean views and even better food!
We were lucky to get a last-minute reservation, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Our server was super friendly and welcoming from the start.

We started with the calamari and prawn appetizers — both were excellent. The prawns were perfectly crispy and came with a delicious dipping sauce, while the calamari was fresh and nicely complemented by leafy greens and onions.

For the main, we shared the spaghetti, and the kitchen was kind enough to split it for us — a thoughtful touch.

Great food, warm service, and a beautiful seaside view make this place an easy recommendation. Don’t miss it if you’re in Powell River! 👍

Absolutely some of the best chicken wings I have ever had (garlic parmasen)! The shared plates are excellent - the brie and garlic combination was incredible. The calamari however wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worst either. And they had a decent selection of Canadian wines. If you sit on the patio the view from this bistro are stunning.

Absolutely beautiful setting with a deck over the ocean and even a pod of whales splashing around. Music was awful 80s piano jazz and although our server was a sweet heart the hostess was super rude.
Food was mediocre at best and we won't likely be back

While the atmosphere is lovely, the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the lamb shank, and the presentation alone left me a little queasy. It looked like it had been boiled and then placed on the plate. No seasoning at all except a few bits of parsley sprinkled on top. Vegetables were also boiled with zero flavour. I was very surprised as my past dining experiences have been top notch. I had the crème brûlée for dessert, and that was delicious.

Aangenaam verrast. We zijn hier gaan eten omdat we bij het nabijgelegen hotel waren. De waardering lijkt mager voor wat we hier hebben gekregen. Fantastisch uitzicht, vriendelijke bediening, echt schappelijke prijzen en de kaart was origineel. Eten was uitstekend en de eerste keer in onze reis door Canada dat er ook ruimschoots gebruik werd gemaakt van groente. Die was ook niet overcooked maar echt heerlijk knapperig. Dus ben je in de buurt dan is dit echt wel een omrij locatie.

I had the pork ribs at The Seasider Bistro + Wine Bar + Patio, and they were excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the place was spotless. The ocean-side patio is incredible with a beautiful view. While the menu may seem pricey at first, the quality, portion size, presentation, and overall ambiance make it completely worth it. Truly the best fine dining experience in Powell River!

This spot is all about the location. Their patio on a summer's night can't be beat. We saw whales a few times off towards Texada and thoroughly enjoyed the sunset. The service was also great. We were thrilled with the attention we got and the efficiency with which she helped us. The food, on the other hand, was hit and miss. I had the burger, and it was a win. My partner had the tuna and pasta and thought it was just so so. The couple we dined with had yhe tacos. The one who chose fish was really unhappy with the soggy wrap. The other chose the shredded beef and enjoyed his. We had the squid to start, and it was very good. We tried all 3 desserts. The chocolate mousse was the hit, the apple cake was ok, and the lime offering was full of big chunks of actual lime that I had to spit out because I couldn't chew it. All in all, I would try again but be cautious in my choices. Stick to burgers and usually it works out.

The view of the ocean was wonderful. The atmosphere on the patio was nice as well. The service was good. Unfortunately we had troubles with the food. We ordered a beet salad and a warm brie, noth to share. After a few minutes the waitress came back and told us that they didn't have any brie and did we want to order something else. So we ordered some garlic toast. She came back with the beet salad. By the end of eating the salad we both realized that there was no dressing on the salad. We didn't say anything at that point because we had finished the salad. Then our main course arrived. Both of us ordered the maple pecan salmon. The salmon was raw. We had no choice but to bring this to the waitresses attention. She went to the kitchen and asked the cook staff about it. They said it's supposed to be a bit raw but they didn't have any more salmon so we asked them to take back our plates to get the salmon cooked. She had also offered us a free dessert. Then instead of coming back with our cooked salmon and partially eaten plates, she came back with a brand new plate with salmon minus the rhubarb chutney. We were surprised because she had told us they didn't have any more salmon to give us. The salmon was perfect this time. We then ordered dessert and the rest of the meal was unremarkable. They did not charge us for the desserts as stated and we never mentioned the beet salad with goat cheese that had no dressing.
