The small town of Princeton is located 257 kilometers north-east of Surrey, east of the Cascade Mountains.
Historically, the region has been rich in copper, gold and coal, as well as a small amount of platinum
The whole town has seven streets and five avenues, covering an area of about 60 square kilometers and a population of 2,828.

It is said that John Fall Allison landed here in 1858 and became the first permanent resident from Europe here. He later gave birth to 14 children, invested in the development of minerals, established his own base, and had a small town.
The town was originally named Price Town and was later renamed Princeton Town, which is said to to honour an 1860 visit to eastern Canada by Prince Edward (later King Edward VII)

Today, in honor of John Allison, the highest point at 4,403 feet above sea level near the Copper Mine on Highway 3 is named Allison Pass Summit
