The small town of Princeton is located 257 kilometers north-east of Surrey, east of the Cascade Mountains.
Historically, the region has been rich in copper, gold and coal, as well as a small amount of platinum
The whole town has seven streets and five avenues, covering an area of about 60 square kilometers and a population of 2,828.

It is said that John Fall Allison landed here in 1858 and became the first permanent resident from Europe here. He later gave birth to 14 children, invested in the development of minerals, established his own base, and had a small town.
The town was originally named Price Town and was later renamed Princeton Town, which is said to to honour an 1860 visit to eastern Canada by Prince Edward (later King Edward VII)

Today, in honor of John Allison, the highest point at 4,403 feet above sea level near the Copper Mine on Highway 3 is named Allison Pass Summit

Princeton BC is a hidden gem nestled in the southern part of British Columbia. Princeton is a town steeped in history, dating back to the 1800s. You can explore historic buildings, museums, and walk in the footsteps of the early pioneers by hiking the Kettle Valley Railway Trail. Additionally, the area is rich in First Nations history, which can be appreciated through the local art and cultural activities. But history is just one part of what makes Princeton special. The scenery around town is breathtaking, characterized by mountain ranges and deep canyons. Outdoor enthusiast's can enjoy hiking, fishing, boating, and even skiing to their heart's content. For those who love a good road trip, the drive to Princeton is an experience in itself. I want to mention the friendly and welcoming people who call Princeton home. From shop owners to locals you'll encounter everyone is genuinely happy to have visitors exploring their town. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys history, outdoor activities, and breathtaking scenery. I hope you get a chance to visit soon!
