Oh my! What a wonderful surprise! I popped in to pick up a pizza "or something" on the way home. I've driven by Uncle Buck's many times, but I do not live in the area. I was completely taken back when I walked in the door, in a good way! There was so much going on. A huge sub counter. A pizza section and a funky ice cream section like I've never seen before! So many different kinds of milkshakes and similar ice cream things. Can't wait to try fizzy milkshakes!

The restaurant is "subtly" split in two, with the famous Tanner Deli and the ice cream products on one side, and the well Respected Uncle Buck's Pizza products on the other. Lots of comfy seating!

So much on the menu to choose from. I ordered a pizza. Donair pizza with pineapple and extra sauce. The pizza was really good, it did not come with donair sauce on the bottom of the pizza, but you could ask for it drizzled on top if you like. Two containers of donair sauce came standard and I ordered an extra one. (Please don't "judge" on the pineapple 🙂 The pizza was ready quickly. There were many customers in the store, coming and going. Lots of staff members serving. Even though the staff were busy, at least three staff members asked me if they could help in any way. The staff were honest and genuine and seemed to be very concerned about helping me pick up something that I would really like. The staff were a mixture of ages and in some way resembles a large family as they were so positive in their interactions with each other. This may be true of many pizza places for sure, but this restaurant seems to have something special and different going on. Having worked in the pizza business as a younger person, I could see the wise choices that the owners made in organization, product choices and quality!

Tanner's subs for our next meal, and fizzy shakes all summer, for sure!

This used to be a place you could get good food. The last few trips have been exceptionally bad. We ordered this evening and the issues begin with the phone call. They answer the phone and says”uncle bucks, hold please”. And then the phone down. First off, you should get permission to place someone on hold. 2nd placing the phone on the counter so I can hear every conversation is not placing it on hold. When they come back there’s no thanks for being on hold.

On to the food. We ordered a large pizza and large garlic fingers. Both of them were thin and the dough was a very light brown, almost white on the bottom so under cooked. The pizza had beef topping on it along with a few others, and there was not a lot of beef on the pizza.

The garlic fingers were a whole other level of bad. They were thin, little cheese, and over half of them were hard and tasteless. We couldn’t eat a lot of them.

We’ve been a customer here for over 20,years, but lately the food has left a lot to be desired.

I always love ordering food from uncle Buck because it’s always been very tasty on top of that. Staff are friendly and once you order there enough, they end up knowing you by name when you call it’s just got that small town feel when you’re there and when you call to place an order, I highly recommend the crispy wedges.

Decend food, decent price, terrible customer service and delivery. Waiting 1 hr to find out the delivery driver will "be there any minute" 30 mins later i cancelled my order and was able to get take put from another local place in that time. I understand it's busy, but if you can't deliver an order in 1 hr (from a few blocks away) let alone 1.5hrs there's something wrong.
At least let customers know what the wait time is once they call to see if they even want to wait around that long.

I love Uncle Bucks/Tanners! I have had better pizza/sandwiches, but not at the price. The food is pretty great, and everyone there is awesome to deal with. I was in there the other day, and it made me want to move to Spryfield. It just reminds me of what living in Nova Scotia used to be like.

Tonight was busy (Friday of a holiday weekend)! But the staff were so great to me while I waited in my car, that they accidentally over charged for roasted red peppers (sadly they don’t have that there) and came out to ask if that’s okay. As a result, they gave us some cookies and they were really good, too! Thanks Uncle Bucks!

Really disappointed with the pizza, normally I avoid sandwich pepperoni under the cheese places but it was my first time trying the pizza here. I've also never had a pizza this flat before, like it either doesn't have yeast in it or it wasn't proofed. Anyway, it's like cracker thin, flatbreads are thicker than this is. The whole batch should have been tossed, I wouldn't have served this.

But the staff was great and poutine I ordered was amazing. Generous portion, lots of toppings, was delicious.

Will be back for the poutine at least.

Ordered two donairs and a poutine. The donairs came out fine but the poutine looks like it was stomped on. The fries weren't even in fry shape anymore, it was just mashed potato with poutine toppings. I didn't even leave it sitting around, they just came like that.

I've ordered here plenty of times previously and never had an issue. They're usually quite excellent so I'm unsure what happened here. Their typically good service and food makes this stand out a fair bit. Ordinarily the poutine has fries and is quite tasty, so hoping a later ordering of this goes better. This one went in the trash.
