Our family spent a wonderful week in cottage #2 in July. Location was perfect for us to tour surrounding areas and visit family and friends. Bird Island Boat Tour is just down the road and we had a great tour and seen hundreds of puffins and other birds. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen and little extra amenities. Hosts, Gina and Mark were very accommodating with any requests we had. We would definitely recommend the cottages and hope to return in the future.

This was one of the nicest vacation rentals we came across! Born and raised on Cape Breton and these accomodations were above and beyond any other place we have stayed. They had everything we needed and more. These hosts were so sweet and down to earth and the property is a private little gem!! The view was spectacular the beach was private and the kid setup was awesome. They even supplied everything needed to make the perfect sand castle. These cabins are spotless you cannot beat the price and we will certainly be back!

SIX OUT OF FIVE - Cottage 1 is an amazing little spot against the most incredible backdrop and the nicest hosts, ever!!
Our family of four stayed for this past Thanksgiving week in Cottage 1. I don't think the pictures do this Cottage justice - it's so nice. I loved the open concept; it was fiercely cleaned for our arrival and all 'round nicely and simply decorated. Small but loaded kitchen and a great little bathroom.
Terrific views. Just phenomenal.
My four year old loved the park by the beach - and no wonder; it's really nicely appointed. My 9 month old actually couldn't find much to destroy in the cottage because it was so tidy upon our arrival, ha ha.
Our hosts made themselves known and were genuine, friendly and responsive to our inquiries - they actually jumped on a brief issue with the WIFI before we even noticed it.
I literally felt like family when they came by in advance of a forecast wind storm to ensure we were comfortable and knew how to engage them for a potential generator install (we didn't need it in the end).
Real hoping we find ourselves back here in a few years!! Cheers.

Our family jusy returned from a week-long stay at the "View of the Sea" cottages. We absolutely loved it! Spacious, clean, and a beautiful view with a beautiful breeze. My daughter enjoyed the playground and the nightly campfires. The property is located not far from the highway, which makes it easy to commute to Dalem Lake, Lick-A-Chick, The Lobster Pound and Moore, and other spots of interest. Mark and Gina were wonderful, and will do whatever they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. My recommendation is to bring some bug spray for the evenings, watch out for jellyfish when you swim, and bring some kindling for the firepit. We look forward to returning again next summer!

Five of us stayed in June 2015. Our cottage was off a country road at a quiet spot right by the shore. We saw Canada Geese swimming near the shore, and could hear oven birds singing in the forest nearby. The kitchen, living area, and bedrooms were comfortable and well equipped, and there was a big and very new barbeque that we made good use of. The sun room was lovely and the shower was quite nice (the water temperature stays constant). The hosts were very accommodating. They got us salt right away when we told them there wasn’t any! We only stayed for two nights. The hosts told us about many things we could do in the nearby area but unfortunately we didn’t have time on this trip. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Beautiful spot!! Can't say enough about the amazing view! We stayed in cottage 3, which was the smallest and closest to the water. The cottage had everything we needed and was so clean and well organized. Lots of little personal touches were much appreciated, like cold bottled water in the fridge, ice cube trays already full and frozen, and a basket of some extra toiletries in the bathroom. Cottage had its own BBQ, and outdoor table and chairs. The property has its own private beach, quite grassy though, but the water was so refreshing. It had a playground and a horseshoe pit. The only downside was that the property has a shared firepit for all 3 cottages on site. It would have been nice to have our own private one for the cottage. Cottage was also quite hot, a fan would have been nice, but the whole experience was amazing. The black flies and mosquitoes were quite bad, bring bug spray for the evenings outside.

We stayed in a small bachelor cottage facing the ocean inlet and hills. The cottage had all you needed with some special extras in the bathroom. The kitchen counterspace was limited. The outside deck was small, but enabled us to eat outside. The waterfront was natural and had some wildlife to observe. Parking was next to cottage.The owner was extremely helpful in orientatiing us. Shopping was about 10/15 minutes away and eating places were close by. A farmer's market was a few minutes away. We visited the Miner's Museum in Glacé Bay. Sydney was very interesting

We have enjoyed Mark and Gina’s hospitality for the last 8 or 9 years. The cottage was always in immaculate condition and cleanliness was one of their top priorities even before the pandemic struck.

2020 was to be a special year for our family as we had also booked a second cottage in August for 3 weeks for our daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren. Being from outside the Atlantic bubble we were to quarantine for 2 weeks which did not make it feasible for the family to fly down also taking in the risk factor of flying. As difficult as it was, we made the only practical decision and that was to cancel our reservations. Mark and Gina were very understanding and we received FULL REIMBURSEMENT OF OUR DEPOSIT IMMEDIATELY.

The health and safety of all is their top priority and we are so happy that we had booked this trip with Mark and Gina at View of the Sea Cottages.
Due to their business ethic and values we have rebooked for 2021 and are so looking forward to it.
