Reply to owner reply - when the stylist was finished, I told her she cut it too short, and she also curled my hair, which now I see was to cover up the choppy cut job. She also didn't ask how I wanted my hair styled. I don't feel comfortable coming back because of the way you defended the stylist job, and I wouldn't trust a salon after receiving such a bad haircut.
When I got home, I noticed the choppy cut after straightening my hair. I will be going to a different salon to fix the hair cut.

Worst experience, the senior stylist cut my hair too short and left the layers choppy looking. I don't recommend

I came to the Ajax studio on March 22, 2024 to do a trial for my son’s wedding in Oct & was so disappointed with the updo, given the cost of $118.65. I came in for a second trial with another stylist on August 7, 2024. Upon checking out, I tried to confirm that the stylist who did the second trial will be available on the day of my son’s wedding. I was then told that this stylist was booked off for that month, (this was after the salon charged an additional $118.65 for the second trial). So now I have paid 237.30 for trials, and we still had not settled on who would actually be taking care of my needs on the day of my son’s wedding. If I was underwhelmed by the first trial, wouldn’t it make sense that the second trial be booked with a stylist who would be available to perform the service when it is required?
To top everything off the pins used for the 2nd trial were falling out on my drive between Ajax & Oshawa. I am a senior and I cannot believe that Waves runs their business this way – I am out hundreds of dollars for nothing, not counting that I had travelled from out of town for both trials.
I am supremely disappointed in wasting my time and money trying to find a solution at Waves. I’m very fortunate that I found a friend who is semi-retired from hairdressing who stepped in at the last minute, and performed a fantastic service for half the cost, (& gave me an updo which stayed in place for over 48 hours).
I’d ask that management seriously work to improve service and communication with future clients to ensure their needs are met, especially when their clients are only trying to look their best for special occasions and are trying to work with the staff towards a solution, which in my case was unfortunately never delivered.

Amazing experience! This was my first time doing a balayage and I went to this salon after a lot of research. And the result is way better than what I had expected. I mean, the pictures speak for themselves! An extra star to Tonia for being so patient when the color didn’t come out the first time and she had to do it again. She makes sure you leave the salon with a smile on your face. Thank you Tonia 🙂

They charged 180.00 for make up application and wash and blow dry.
Highway robbery, now I know why the salon was empty on a Saturday. It seems like the owner had to make up for a slow day. I wouldn't recommend this salon for any service.

I booked an appointment a week in advanced on August 3rd 2024 For a very important occasion and I reached there a few min late. Front desk lady told me That I have to wait for 1 hour or more until the stylist finish her client which I did not see anyone there and the salon was completely empty with no stylists AND NO CLIENT or maybe one at the back
I got very disappointed and THEY ruined my important events ?

Used to be my favourite place to go with my family. The previous owners were delightful. Ever since there are new owners, you could never find me in there anymore. Place seemed dead, different music, different vibe, no one there anymore, no one having a good time, customer service didn’t seem genuine. I got a balayage last year and have bitten my tongue to say anything…I paid almost $450 for something that didn’t look like anything I wanted and, ruined my hair! But what could I say…the damage was done. I hated it and my family was disappointed too (I had never dyed my hair before either!). I am still trying to recover from it till this day…finally, it’s growing out. I ended up looking like a raccoon after from how awkwardly my hair was bleached. Maybe just my experience…just thought I’d share.

First time trying this salon and had a great experience. They accommodated me by doing a same-day appointment for myself and my daughter. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The stylists (Angie and Maddie) listened to what we wanted and cut our hair accordingly. Very happy with their services.
