Great host Holly with excellent contact and help! The room was very clean and big. We slept very well because it was very quiet. We stayed for two nights before we're flying home from Halifax and explored the Eastern Shore with beautiful Martinique Beach! I recommend this Motel!!!

We stayed just 1 night here on a stopover between Cape Breton and Halifax. Check in was super easy, I was emailed a lockbox code for the key and told our room number. The room appeared to have been recently refurbished as per previous reviews on here. It still had a fusty motel smell mind you. Perfectly fine for 1 night. The room had a fridge, coffee machine, but no microwave which would’ve been useful for sterilising my baby’s things. Also the general store on site was disappointing it didn’t have much in there and the food didn’t look appealing. They had even run out of icecream. Go for a meal at the Salmon River Inn just down the road! Lots of food options, including a German Kitchen menu- delicious.

We have stayed in some interesting places over the years but this has by far been the worse. The linens and towels smelled really foul (as though maybe they had been left sitting in the washer far too long before being dried) and this stench overtook the whole room. We had planned to give our littlest traveler a bath upon our arrival but the bathroom was so dirty that even us big people decided to wait for the next stop for showers. There was actually pubic hair in the tub, the bath mat was in a heap on the floor all covered in dust, hair, and grime. There was garbage on the floor behind the sink that had obviously been there for a bit, the toilet was leaking over the floor, and it was so humid and poorly ventilated that the paint was peeling off the wall. The beds were absolutely terrible; they were SO OLD. The box springs didnt properly fit on the bed frames so the beds were lop-sided and very uncomfortable. There was what appeared to be sticky candy mess over the night stand and crumbs inside the drawers. Overall, the place was just a dirty disaster. If we had arrived earlier and there had been other options nearby we wouldn't have stayed. But, we had a long day of driving and a little one to put to bed so we made the best of it and departed first thing in the morning. We will never return.

3 Sterne = "Alles okay" ist gerade noch so in Ordnung. Das Zimmer war relativ sauber. Es gab keinen Insektenschutz vor den Fenstern, somit war das Öffnen am Abend nicht gut möglich. Vom Benutzen des im Zimmer angebotenen Kaffee's, bzw. des Kaffeeweißers würde ich absehen, denn der hatte sein Verfallsdatum lange überschritten. Es war extrem unappetitlich!!! Dazu füge ich Fotos bei.

I really wished we didn't stay here. We both suffered bad headaches and ill within hours of staying here. This place was mouldy and poorly ventilated and maintained. The front window was painted shut, so you couldn't open the main window for fresh air, air conditioning was outdated, filthy and noisy. The fridge froze up all our meals (even when it was on lowest setting), we had to throw out our food. You are in the sticks, so no real conveniences nearby, no restaurants. There was one in front of the motel, but the impression of the motels condition deterred us from even going in to try out the food/store. The bedding was okay, but the bedspread was quite smelly, as were the curtains. I was too scared to look at the mattress. Our toilet also leaked and had to put a towel around the base. Bathroom wall paint was peeling, toilet stained and lights were so bright, it hurts your eyes. WARNING: this is also in AirBnB. Drive to the Salmon River inn or elsewhere.
