A Hidden Gem That Feels Like Home

West Cliff Restaurant is one of those rare places that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, in the best way possible. It's a charming little mom-and-pop shop run by the sweetest older couple who make you feel like family the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is cozy, wholesome, and full of heart. It honestly felt like I time-traveled to the good old days, where kindness, banter, and homemade meals still mattered.

They cook right in front of you while chatting and laughing with customers, and their smiles are just as comforting as the food. I had the daily special, soup, sandwich, fries, and rice pudding, all for just $10. Every bite was delicious and made with love. My daughter had the chicken fingers and fries, and even that was above and beyond, crispy, well-cooked, and full of flavor.

Dining here reminded me of eating at my grandparents’ house when I was little. It filled me with happiness and nostalgia. This place isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a warm hug for the soul. I can’t recommend it enough!

Came to Halifax for a trip, and was looking for local places to try, and stumbled upon this place. Bev and Tyler were absolutely incredible, friendly, personable, and quick.
The food was absolutely excellent and well worth the money! I came here twice in the week I was there, because the value for quality was way too good to pass up!
If I’m back in Halifax, I will definitely be coming back.

The friendliest and most budget friendly little diner in Halifax. I drove by it for years and then one day we went in to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised. I was shocked at how affordable it is. At the time of this review, fish and chips costs 8, 9 or 10 dollars for 1, 2, or 3 pieces! Every other Tuesday they feature a delicious home cooked meal with dessert for under $10. Beverly and Tyler really make you feel welcome. I think they love what they do; you can tell!

Super budget friendly "hole in the wall' kind of diner. Foods quite decent, run by an older couple. Definately is nothing fancy, no upgrades in ages but typical mom and Pop classic old school diner. I recommend if you are looking for budget friendly diner food.

The food here is good and the price is unbeatable, you couldn't even make it at home for that cheap. I hate clam strips and chips and a club house with onion rings. The food was fantastic. The owners are great people, straight shooters and it's got a classic diner feel. Don't come here if you are expecting service like "The Keg", it's not that kind of restraunt. Places like this don't exist anymore and this is my new go to place to eat. Love the husband and wife who run it.

This place is a remnant of the diners of old. With a 14-seat counter and vintage memorabilia & and furniture, you'd think you stepped back in time. This restaurant was highly rated for years. It would appear that age is catching up. Depending on what you order, the food is decent to good, and the prices just can't be beaten. As for the service, well, you are treated like family here; you write down your order & take it to the cook, you grab your own drinks out of the fridge, and you chat with the owners like they've known you since you were kids. You have to experience it.

The owners are really nice. It's an old style restaurant. And you can tell they care. The way to get food is take the piece of paper at the counter and just right down and than pass it to the guy. I enjoy it haha. The food is good and they cook it right in front. I've been there 3 times. And I can't wait to go again.

This is one of my favourite diners I’ve ever been to the atmosphere is perfect. The food is great and they have perfect customer service. I would recommend coming here anytime any day of the week.
