My husband is an amputee in a wheel chair. We were impressed with the outside pictures of the "wheel chair accessible" cottage. The lake and setting is very nice. There is a ramp to the deck of the cottage. However, to get into the cottage you have to go over a corner of the fireplace hearth which sticks out into the doorway so getting the wheel chair in and out was a bit of a chore. I had to move furniture in the living room to accommodate the wheel chair. The floor of the dining room/kitchen is a bit uneven so my husband had to have the brakes on his chair so it wouldn't roll back. The bathroom is very good except the mirror over the sink it set up so high that my husband, in his wheel chair, could only see the top of his head. To get to the lake it is a gentle slope down to the water and dock. He could access the dock but there was not an area where the wheel chair could get to the water. Getting back up the slope from the dock to the cottage is a bit of a work out. We had originally planned to come back for a week in August but found it was just too much work to get in and out of the cottage and back and forth to the lake. We had to pay a 25% cancellation fee on our deposit. This review is from July 2022 and so you would need to check with management if some of these things have changed. Thank you.

Our stay over Mother's Day weekend was excellent, despite the weather not fully cooperating. Cottage #7 is nice and cozy for a small family. The cottage was clean and had some disability enhancements which I appreciated. The property manager treated us like "royalty" to ensure our stay was pleasant. Perhaps most importantly, our dog loved it too! The lake was too cold to swim, but we did catch some fish (which is unusual for us). Enjoyed our stay and re-charge the batteries weekend!! We spent a week at cottage 13 with our extended family. It is the largest unit at Willow Beach, providing private space for everyone with 4 bedrooms and a sun room/secured breezeway that can also be used an additional bedroom. Our combined families have lots of kids so we were not looking for a newly furnished/renovated place that would make us nervous each time our kids started running around. This place is clean and furnished as any "up north" rustic vacation rental should be, with furniture that is functional and comfortable. There is a gorgeous view of the lake, sand, playground, firepit and LOTS of space for the kids to play soccer etc... We were there to relax AND show the kids a good time. This cottage ensured both. There is an additional restroom just outside this cottage that is housed within the laundry facility that we found to be very conveniently located when looking for extra privacy away from the gang. In the laundry facility has a large sink that was also a bonus for parents with children. ||There are two entrances to the wrap around deck, one from the kitchen and one from the family room, which made eating outside very convenient for those preparing. Kitchen is larger than most rentals. BBQ right on your private deck, no need to share with others, or walk to a communal space.||The master bedroom has its own floor and its own bathroom, which was SO nice! Gorgeous view, too. There is a lake view from the family room, and 3 bedrooms, so listening to the calming water and waves while falling asleep was so lovely.||Precious memories were made, we plan to make an annual trip to Willow Beach, and stay at cottage 13. Thank-you everyone for a wonderful experience!

We stayed here for 1 week with my parents and our very small children. ||||The cottage was nicely furnished and well stocked - more so than what I expected. Tv's in most bedrooms and a large one in the main room (not that we turned them on), a large chest full of games and puzzles and books, and fully stocked kitchen. The resort was well manicured and for us it was a short walk across the grass to get to the beach. There are lots of comfy chairs to sit on at the beach and a chest of sand toys. There's a water slide for kids only and a dock to swim out to - all in relatively shallow water for adults. ||||There is a small swingset/park near the beach that my small kids loved. Lots of room to run around and play games. You can go fishing off the dock or use one of the canoes/kayaks/rowboats provided. They also provide the life jackets. This was a great perk. ||||There's a rec hall with foosball, pool, air hockey and some books and movies. And Haliburton is very close - so you're close to a full grocery store. Wifi was very strong.||||Our only disappointment was that there's just one campfire pit for the entire resort and although visually appealing with stumps for chairs around the pit, it's not very comfortable. The other guests were friendly though and the kids managed to get some marshmallow roasting in. ||||I would definitely recommend this place!

My family of four (2 adults, 2 children) stayed in Cottage #7 in March and had an incredible weekend get-away from the city. The cottage was simply perfect: it was cozy, clean, and so relaxing, especially with a warm fire going almost the entire time we were there. The bedrooms were cozy, clean and comfortable - loved the tv and dvd player in the master bedroom! A good-sized kitchen with all the amenities, and a huge bathroom with a fantastic soaker tub/jacuzzi. My girls played outside in the snow for hours, both around the property and on the lake, only coming in to sit by the warm fire, sipping hot chocolate, and watching movies on the big screen tv (incredible movie collection btw). We had just an amazing time, and after 3 days we wished we could have stayed for an entire week! I would highly recommend Willowbeach Cottages, and certainly cottage #7, to anyone! Neil P

We had a great May long weekend at Cabin 7 of the Willow Beach Cottages. The cabin was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The open concept living room / kitchen was a great space for hanging out when the weather was not so great. We loved the big windows that allowed us a view of the lake and the rest of the cottages and the corner fireplace made the space very cozy. Our cabin was only a short walk from the shared beach and fire pit. The community feel of the Willow Beach Cottages made for a very relaxed and enjoyable weekend. We highly recommend Cabin 7 and the Willow Beach Cottages.

Very quiet getaway. Great for the whole family. Playground, games room, spa, laundry facilities etc. Anna was great. She came by every day to ask if we needed anything.
We stayed in cottage #1 (on the edge of the water). Nicely updated 2 bedroom and a pull out couch. Cottage has everything that you need (fans, boardgames, toilet paper, coffee maker and more). Table with umbrella and chairs on deck (no need to bring chairs). There is a fireplace and also baseboard heaters. Tub in the washroom. Strong Wifi signal in the cottage and outside the cottage.
Chipmunks came by and we gave them peanuts out of our hand. Lots of opportunities to take great pictures (geese, ducks)
Great place to fish off the dock. Small beach but perfect for us. Only 3 families were using it while we were there. Pool noodles and sand toys were there. You can walk into the water and the water trampoline isn't too far. Paddle boats and life jackets available but we didn't use. There's also a fire pit and firewood available (including skewers).
I'd give 5 stars if the arrival process was clearly stated via email or phone. We arrived on the Sunday and didn't know that the cottage was unlocked and instructions&rules and the key were inside.

For two summers our family of six has rented cottage 7 and the rest of our extended family rented cottage 13. Cottage 7 is very clean and well kept. We love it. Cottage 13 is definitely more rustic but this worked well for the rest of the family as they are a pretty laid back crew. ||This coming summer we will all be renting three different cottages as the the numbers have changed. Willow Beach has all that we need and more. It is so relaxing and has become a family vacation that all ages look forward to. We hope to spend any more years going back to Willow Beach.
