I recently stayed at Windermere House. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was lovely, which I really appreciated.
However, one of the main reasons I chose this hotel was for the heated pool and hot tub — unfortunately, they were under maintenance and not available.
It was disappointing not to be informed about this in advance, as it affected my experience.
A bit more transparency would go a long way in improving guest satisfaction.

Came for my birthday weekend and was totally swept away and left breathless. The place was more than I bargained for.
The rooms are very spacious and super clean. The staff were beyond pleasant and accommodating and you could tell they were happy being there.
The Rousseau restaurant was disappointing in my opinion. The menu was limited and being a pescatarian, they only had a salmon dish on their menu. Our server was kind enough to ask for my meal to be customized but, I was not impressed. I wasn’t charged for it, however my partner enjoyed his meal thoroughly.
The buffet style comp breakfast was pretty decent.
The outdoor saunas were great for relaxation. Tried the hot tub and it was amazing, however I’d suggest to go easy on the chlorine…
Ate at the pub downstairs and the food was superb! Honestly, I can’t wait to revisit this summer. What a gem of a place. ❤️

Went the Sunday of the Valentine's Day weekend. Enjoyed the great amenities like the hot tub and barrel saunas! Also loved our dinner at the hotel restaurant. Set menu but the desserts were as good as they looked. Also really liked that the resort was pet friendly. We will definitely go back.

We had a lovely stay here last week. The front desk was very helpful and welcoming. We met some great staff throughout our stay and also enjoyed some guests playing the piano on the main floor. The views were incredible from the hotel and out on the lake. The food was really good and the pub food options were great. We definitely took advantage of the outdoor saunas and hot tub. We also tried the cold pool lol. The room was clean and the hotel generally felt clean throughout. There was some maintenance being done on the building as we were staying but that's to be expected in the off season. There were a few things that needed some repair in the room but nothing outrageous. Overall we hope to come back next winter! Thank you to all the staff for making us feel welcome and relaxed!

We stayed here for our anniversary and had lovely time! Staff was friendly and helpful, there weren't chairs for our balcony but they were kind and offered us a refund for a portion of our stay. Super beautiful location, we will be back!

Clean hotel with comfy beds and friendly staff. Came off season April to relax and unwind; nice weekend getaway. Out door sauna barrels are great (beautiful views) ; the hot tub is definately a guest favorite. Free guest parking as well. Breakfast included was yummy.

Booked a three day stay and was not disappointed in my choice. The drive here through smaller communities in the Muskoka area was lovely. The facilities are well maintained and the customer service is great. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast had lots of options for the free breakfast that comes with your stay. It would be a great place for a group retreat, yoga get away or time with your partner. The hot tub and sauna barrels are popular but never crowded.
I came alone and enjoyed walking outdoors, and use of the gym. Highly recommended!
