Would highly recommend this store! Even compared to Toronto, these are some of the best onigiris we had and we were really satisfied with our meal. We had the zuke onigirazu, scallop, pork kimchi, and yuzu salmon avocado onigiris. The first few were made to order so the rice was still slightly warm and fresh which we really liked. The flavours in the kimchi pork and tuna were our favourites! The salmon onigiri from the vending machine was also amazing. We also got the strawberry mochi and matcha tiramisu as desserts, and both were made well. The mochi was chewy with a fresh strawberry and red bean paste that wasn’t too sweet. The matcha tiramisu was creamy with a slight hint of matcha that wasn’t overpowering. The owners were super kind as well, would highly recommend!

An amazing experience at Yama Onigiri!
I had the onigi-razu and it was absolutely delicious — you can really taste how fresh the ingredients are. The whole team was incredibly friendly and attentive, truly top-notch service from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Banff and looking for authentic, fresh, and carefully prepared Japanese food.
I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious onigiri!! The drinks were amazing as well. The food is prepared quickly and served with a smile by the lovely staff. Everything was prepared so nicely, you can tell there is a lot of care put into this. I highly recommend this shop!

The tuna mayo onigiri was incredibly tasty and filling, perfect to go in the middle of a long road trip to Calgary from BC. The matcha tiramisu was also incredibly delicious, I hope I get to visit here again in the future!

The best onigiri I've had outside of Japan!
The staff was incredibly friendly and service was impeccably fast. I ordered the classic tuna mayo onigiri which are made to order. The rice was warm which made the experience that much better and the tuna was so flavorful with the addition of dried chili peppers. I also got the Tonjiru miso which was rich and fatty with some pieces of pork belly. They absolutely did not skimp on the veggies in the soup either, it was packed. Hands down one of the best places I've eaten in Banff and also the most affordable. They also have a vending machine for cold onigiri which make a perfect portable meal for a hike or the slopes.

if you have problems after a dental surgery you would not have any problems eating this, because the rice is like soft like porridge which it shouldn't be like this
