Zanatta Winery is exceptional and one of my favorite wineries in the valley!

Rustic, quaint, and full of charm — this family-run winery has been one of my preferred destinations for over 8 years.

Just a lovely place we sort of fell upon while biking today. Christian was our "sommelier" and was superb!! He explained each wine we tasted, spoke about the vineyard and family history with great passion. An excellent representative for the winery. And yes.. we bought 2 bottles.. would have bought more but our bike pannier would only hold 2 bottles!!

This is a lovely winery. We were seated outside for our tasting and the service was great, we were offered water as well. The wines were very nice and we purchased a red. View was beautiful!

Stopped in on Saturday on a drive from Victoria to Tofino for a wine tasting and lunch. This is the oldest vineyard in the region, and as I'm sure there is some prestige in this, I was surprised that I didn't enjoy the wines.
A tasting is $5, and we received four wines to taste - lighter pours and quantities than the other wineries we visited in Cowichan. The sparkling Brut could have been a great sip - sadly, it had been sitting on the bench for too long and was warm.
The other white and two reds were nice, but nothing overly exciting.
We ate at the restaurant, Vineteca,, which I was told is a local chef who rents the space from the vineyard. A great idea, but poorly executed. A 50 minute wait, for sub-par pasta. You can read a full Google review of the restaurant at Vinoteca Restaurants Google Page.
